A Founding Board Member
Lisa Péwé is a professional life coach, equine specialist and support group facilitator. She holds certifications as a therapeutic riding instructor and as an equine specialist in mental health. Lisa has a degree in Psychology and a minor in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University. Lisa has been a professional equestrian for over 30 years, training, showing and coaching hundreds of horses and riders to regional and national awards. Lisa started her first business when she was 28 years old and set industry standards with her full service equestrian academy. Since then, she has been actively involved with several business start-ups and “turnarounds”. Her experience with non-profit organizations started when she was asked to turnaround a premier therapeutic riding center. As the equine director and later the program director of that organization, she rebuilt and managed the equine volunteer training program for over 50 volunteers, as well as the equine care, selection and training, and developed innovative fundraising and cost-cutting practices. Additionally she developed the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Personal growth and life skills programs. Lisa has been an organizational contributor and active participant in two other non-profit organizations: StreetLightPhx, Peoria, AZ; a specialized safe-house and recovery program for children and teens rescued from child sex slavery, and Mending the Soul,which supplies training and material to equip other non-profits, civic leaders, pastors and youth workers with tools and instruction on how to effectively work with, protect, and rehabilitate traumatized and abused children, teens and adults.
Lisa’s passion for helping others to achieve inner victory and growth began with her own journey of emotional freedom, inner healing, and personal growth. Her diverse experience allows her to walk alongside many different groups of people in their pursuit of personal growth and freedom.
Ms. Péwé is focused on guiding the formation and operations of the organization and the development and execution of the equine assisted learning and psychotherapy programs.
James A Boyd
Jim Boyd brings his expertise in business finance, enterprise building and people management to Envision. With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, from University of Toledo, a Master Business Administration from George Washington University, and his studies in military strategy, logistics, and history at the Naval War College as a Senior Officer, he is uniquely qualified to inspire others to reach their highest potentials and lead them to be more productive, increase their knowledge and fulfill their destiny.
Jim served on active duty in the Navy for 10 years in Naval Aviation with the F-4 and F-14 fighter squadrons based out of Virginia Beach, VA. In addition, he spent 20 years serving in the Naval Reserve, where he held positions as Commanding Office, Executive Officer, and on the staff of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Manpower and Reserve Affairs. He retired as a Navy Captain in 2000.
Upon leaving active duty, using his military expertise he was employed in the field of aviation simulators and engineering support to the Navy F-14 community thorough the Naval Air Systems Command.
As an independent contractor, he was a representative for numerous small companies as their liaison to all levels of the federal government. In 1989, MagneTek hired Jim as its Director of Washington Operations, where he was instrumental in increasing its exposure and business opportunities with the federal government. During the due diligence of purchasing an airborne power supply manufacturer in Arizona, Jim was offered the opportunity to become its new General Manager. During his tenure at that company, he was responsible for increasing business by a factor of 4 and significantly reducing overhead and administrative expenses. In 1995, Magnetek sold its Defense System Division and the new company consolidated operations in Southern California.
After joining Vanguard Mutual Funds, Jim rose to became a Manager in Vanguard’s Retail Services and Retirement Services divisions, managing as many as 160 representatives. After completing 3 of 5 Certified Financial Planning modules, Vanguard promoted Jim to Manager of Flagship Services in its Arizona facility. During his tenure, Flagship Services grew in Arizona from a staff of 36 to 140 representatives, serving over 50,000 clients.
After retiring from Vanguard, Jim has focused his efforts on supporting small businesses in their strategic and financial planning.
Susan Stone Rosenfield
Susan has practiced intellectual property law for over 25 years, 20 of those with Fennemore Craig, PC in Phoenix. She was born in NY and raised in NJ, earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Tech, and is a Registered Patent Attorney. Susan is also an AV-rated attorney, and represents companies, non-profit organizations and universities in their copyright, patent, trademark, licensing and related contractual matters. She represents clients in transactional matters and disputes in a variety of industries, including agriculture, mining, food manufacturing/packaging/distribution, water treatment, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, equine, educational training and financial services.
Susan is committed to the concept of “Tikkun Olam”, which is translated from Hebrew as “repairing the world”. She views her work with Envision to be in furtherance of Tikkun Olam, as is her work as a volunteer in various dog rescue organizations, such as Luv of Dogz, Inc., as well as her membership in the Fennemore Craig Foundation Committee through which she leads, and participates with, fellow employees in various activities to benefit those in need in the community. Susan has a special interest in children and young adults with special needs and was thrilled to join Envision’s board to meld this interest with her love of horses. She has first-hand seen the almost miraculous benefits of equine-assisted therapeutic activities, and is dedicated to assisting Envision expand the number of individuals it serves.
Susan and her husband own 3 horses, and enjoy trail riding and just spending time with their horses. They are also the parents to two young men who also believe in Envision’s mission.
Larry D. Birch
Larry Birch has forty plus years as a senior executive in corporate America, with in-depth, day to day responsibility for creating a culture for success in a complex business environment. Larry was responsible for maximizing individual talents to achieve corporate objectives. Larry was a member of various executive teams responsible for strategic planning, brand creation, share growth, industry positioning as well as implementation of corporate initiatives. Having worked for three global manufacturing companies, Larry’s ability to influence his surroundings as the change agent, for reduced costs / enhanced efficiencies has been greatly effective.
Larry has held many national association board positions, national buying group counsel positions, executive board positions, and he received numerous personal recognition and achievement awards.
Larry has been married for forty-four years. He has two daughters, two sons-in-laws, two grandsons and two granddaughters. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and raised in Ohio. After graduating high school, while attending Ohio University, Larry enlisted in the Ohio Air National Guard. During his six years of military service, Larry obtained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Larry’s squadron’s role was as an initial responder, activated for national disasters. Out of college, Larry spent fifteen years with NIBCO Inc. traveling nationally and relocating his family five times. As a Senior Vice President for Mueller Industries, Larry spent the next fifteen years traveling north America, mentoring associates and integrating acquisitions into the Mueller family of businesses. Larry’s initial involvement with IPS Corporation was tumultuous. The beginning of one of our nation’s biggest economic downturn was underway. Downsizing / rightsizing the businesses was critical for survival. Through Larry’s efforts the business prospered, profits increased, efficiencies improved and ultimately the business was aggressively sold to an equity group. As a key member of the executive team, Larry was heavily involved with presenting to potential buyers. Following the sale, Larry was a key component of the integration team, strategic long-range planning committee and senior executive team.
Larry’s recent involvements since retirement are varied. In an attempt to utilize his expertise and give back to his community, Larry serves on his 824-residence HOA’s master board. As treasurer, he is responsible for the execution of the 2018 budget and the creation / implementation of the 2019 plan. Larry and his wife have donated many hours to marriage ministries.
Larry’s commitment to Envision, as a board member, is to embrace the current mission and utilize his background to manage/enhance the ability to increase the provision of Envision’s services; to facilitate a positive change in the lives of individuals and their families by providing therapeutic riding, equine-assisted therapy and therapeutic activities.
Advisory Board Member
Victoria Longfellow is a former board executive with Envision, and is now an active member of its Advisory Board. Victoria is an AV-rated attorney working with select companies as trusted advisor and legal counsel. Victoria’s practice is focused on complex commercial transactions and strategic planning for emerging and established companies in a variety of industries, including medical, dental and chiropractic groups, engineering firms, investment advisors, technology companies and entrepreneurs, software developers, commercial real estate developers and property owners and investors, renewable energy companies, logistics technology and non-profit organizations. Victoria’s breadth of experience covers representation of closely held businesses (corporations, limited liability companies, joint venture partnerships) from company formation and business structuring through debt and equity funding, acquisitions, operations, growth and divestiture through sale or merger. Victoria is certified as a qualified business mediator through Pepperdine School of Law, using mediation skills to assist clients in resolving disputes outside of litigation, and she is a member of Vistage International, and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Victoria’s interest as an Advisory Board member for Envision stems from her life-long love of horses and her dedication to promoting the re-empowerment of those who are struggling with challenges arising from trauma, including PTSD, domestic violence, abuse and other challenges. Victoria contributes to numerous other charitable organizations throughout the Valley, including K2 Adventure Foundation, Hope Kids and the American Heart Association.
Russ W. Perry

Representing The Healing Post
Russ Perry was born in Southern Illinois & loved spending time at his grandparent’s farm as often as possible the first 15 years of his life. He credits the time spent with his grandfather & uncle for his knowledge & skills of working with tools. At age 14, his budding interest in sound & electronics drew him to Radio Station WLRW-FM, where he helped engineers, pulled records & learned how to operate the radio station.
In 1966 his family moved to Phoenix, where he graduated from Camelback High School. Enrolling in Arizona State University, Russ majored in electronics & was in Army ROTC for three years. While attending ASU he worked at Bruce’s World of Sound, Muzak, Harkins’ Theatres & Radio Stations KPHO & KTAR on weekends. After graduating from ASU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics he co-founded Southwest Audio Systems, a company that setup sound systems for the AZ State Fair, AZ Horse Show, National Livestock Show, Arabian Horse show & many others. Russ sold his interest in the company & started The Russcon Corporation in 1975. Russcon designed, installed & serviced sound & video systems for many prominent clients around the valley. Russcon merged with Jerry’s Audio/Video in 1990 where Russ was the Contracting Division Manager for over 20 years. He is currently a system design engineer, client service specialist & sales rep for Jerry’s Audio/Video.
He has always been actively involved in his church & has served on various boards, committees & positions over the years. He has been a member of The Gideons International, serving on their State Cabinet. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees at The Bridge United Methodist Church in Phoenix. He is Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the HOA at Spectrum at Val Vista in Gilbert. He has been involved in The Healing Post design & planning from its’ inception. He has supervised every facet of the construction & installation. Russ says the reward is seeing lives changed & a lasting difference made in the lives of those that come to the facility for help.

Representing The Healing Post
Paulette is the Program Coordinator for the Healing Post at The
Bridge United Methodist Church. She has a BA in Elementary
Education from ASU and has served as a literacy consultant for
various schools in the Phoenix area as well as on the Navajo
reservation. When Paulette left the classroom to raise her own
children, she spent much of her time volunteering in their classrooms
wherever she was needed. She has chaired numerous fund-raising
events for schools and churches as well as coordinating camps for
the local High School Marching Band, performances at Carnegie Hall,
and trips for out-of-state competitions and festivals.
While being fairly new to the field of equine therapeutic services,
Paulette has witnessed incredible change in the attitudes and
behavior of children who have spent just a few short weeks with the
horses. She is committed to helping Envision expand their
opportunities and reach as many children as possible.
Paulette enjoys playing piano, knitting, reading, tennis, the beach,
and family game nights. She and her recently retired husband have 2
Cinthia Hiett, MC, LPC
Advisory Board Member
Cinthia Hiett is an accomplished motivational speaker, coach and psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her education includes a Masters Degree in Counseling and she is in the process of earning a Doctorate in Counseling Studies. As an adjunct professor at Arizona Christian University, she has taught a course entitled Psychology of Religion. With a passion for the bible, she is a recognized motivational speaker sharing inspiration and teachings, traveling internationally, presenting biblically based seminars and lectures on relationships, gender and other inspirations. Cinthia currently hosts “Conversations with Cinthia” on Blog Talk Radio where she teaches the tools and tips to a successful relationship with the opposite sex and explores life management interests. In the past, she has hosted similar radio shows such as “People Talk” and “Singles Talk” on KFNX and “Match Know Match” KXXT. She has been interviewed as an expert clinical practitioner for several TV programs and by the Arizona Republic for her commentary on the relationships of celebrities and VIP’s. Cinthia shares her creative side as an accomplished singer and songwriter, as well as an ordained pastor. Her artistic talents also include performing at weddings and serving in the music ministry to local churches as a soloist, keyboardist and worship leader. Cinthia has a private practice with offices in both Phoenix and Scottsdale, specializing in adult psychotherapy, pastoral counseling, family relations, and helping each person understand their temperament using the Myers Briggs philosophy. Cinthia is available for private and corporate coaching, as well as consulting sessions for individuals and groups. She enjoys helping groups resolve conflict and manage the dynamics, allowing them to work together productively.

Carol Kessler is a physical therapist with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, with an emphasis in orthopedics and sports medicine. She also has a Master’s Degree in exercise physiology and has extensive supervisory and management experience.
Carol has been a life-long horse enthusiast. She eventually was able to combine her career in physical therapy with her passion for horses. She worked at a PATH premier accredited riding center providing hippotherapy services to clients with various physical challenges. Hippotherapy promotes the movement of the horse to facilitate physical, emotional and verbal changes in human clients, to achieve specific therapeutic goals. This type of treatment intervention is provided by physical, occupational or speech therapists. She was able to observe profound changes in her clients with this treatment approach and believes strongly in the therapeutic benefits of horse-human interaction.
Additionally Carol is an ASEA certified equine appraiser. She also is a horse owner who rides and shows in the discipline of dressage.
Dennis R. Pickering

Dennis Pickering has been an Arizonan for over 45 years. Dennis’ involvement with Envision began in 2016 because of his interest in the emerging science of equine assisted psychotherapy and the professionalism and excellent standard of care that Envision provides.
Dennis is married and has two adult sons. He graduated from Camelback High School and did his undergraduate and graduate work at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff Arizona where he met and married his wife Karyl. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is currently the CEO. of BEHCON, Inc., a primary healthcare company. From 2009-2014 he was a practicum supervisor for ASU’s Doctoral Program in Behavioral Health integrating medicine, business and behavioral health. Dennis has been a serial healthcare entrepreneur, clinician and business leader including; founder and President of General Health Corporation, (a behavioral health company) in 1985 which subsequently sold to RESCARE (RSCR) in 1998 and a partner of INTELLIMED International Corporation (a healthcare information company) since 1995 and a partner in commercial real estate and development. since 1985. Dennis is a past Chairman of the Arizona Juvenile Justice Commission and has been a member of the Commission since 1986. He is a former Trustee of the Social Service Contractors Indemnity Pool and Board Member of the Phoenix Rescue Mission, and is currently an Ambassador for PRM. At PRM he has chaired both the Program and Spirituality Committees for men’s
addiction and rehabilitation, and for women and children’s addiction and rehabilitation. He has served on a local Young Life Committee and was Arizona’s appointee to the Federal Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice from 2007-2011.
Dennis loves boating, skiing, reading, music, and traveling, especially to Costa Rica and Big Bear Lake California.

Envision is grateful for the vision and efforts of members of our founding board, several of whom continue to volunteer with Envision and support our efforts. Their service as founders was invaluable, and we honor them here.
Barbara is a PATH International Registered Level Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, and Certified Special Olympics Equestrian Coach. She has authored and delivered many workshops on numerous equine-related topics and has been an active volunteer for many non-profit groups. Barbara assisted Envision in all areas of organizational development including financial and donor relations, grants, record keeping, equine care, website and social media development and management, and policies and procedures relating to the foregoing. Barbara is a recipient of the 2017 Monte Carlo Award.
Leslie W. Paradise
Ms. Paradise is a PATH Certified therapeutic riding and carriage-driving Instructor as well as a Certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning. Ms. Paradise has extensive experience working with individuals of all ages with a wide variety of disabilities. Ms.Paradise owns two horses of her own and has performed with a miniature horse drill team in numerous parades and other venues, including two Tournament of Roses Parades. She and Rebel are also contributors to “Chicken Soup for the Horse Lovers Soul II”, page 131.
Wanda Stingley is a marketing professional with 25 years business experience and focused her work for Envision on the development of marketing and public relations materials and related activities. She has worked extensively with large corporations, entrepreneurs and non profit organizations. Wanda has a business degree with a minor in computer science from Southern Connecticut State University.

During her time with Envision, Deborah Lunden focused on planning and executing therapeutic riding activities and maintaining Envision’s corporate records, as well as being directly involved in all aspects of fundraising activities.
James A. (Alex) Graham
Alex’s activities on behalf of Envision focused on general operations management, coordination of activities and research opportunities. Alex concluded a career of over twenty-five years as an executive in an international financial services company in 2001. Alex served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, he has a keen interest in making equine therapy more available to combat veterans.
