Lisa Péwé

Lisa Pewe

Board President/Executive Director

Lisa Péwé is self-employed and works as a professional life coach, equine specialist and support group facilitator. She holds certifications as a therapeutic riding instructor and as an equine specialist in mental health.  Lisa has a degree in Psychology as well as a minor in Business administration from Grand Canyon University. Lisa has been a professional equestrian for over 30 years; training, showing and coaching hundreds of horses and riders to regional and national awards. Lisa started her first business when she was 28 years old and set industry standards with her full service equestrian academy. Since then she has been involved with several business start-ups and “turnarounds”.  Her experience with non-profits organizations started when she was asked to do a “turnaround” at a premier therapeutic riding center. As the equine director and later the program director she rebuilt and managed the equine volunteer training program for over 50 volunteers, the equine care, selection and training, and developed innovative fundraising and cost cutting practices. Additionally she developed the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Personal growth and life skills programs. Lisa has been an organizational contributor and active participant in two other non-profit organizations. StreetLightPhx, Peoria, AZ; a specialized safe-house and recovery program for children and teens rescued from child sex slavery. And Mending the Soul, a non-profit organization supplying training and material to equip other non-profits, civic leaders, pastors and youth workers, with tools and instruction on how to effectively work with, protect, and rehabilitate traumatized and abused children, teens and adults. Lisa’s passion for helping others in achieving inner victory and growth began with her own journey of emotional freedom, inner healing, and personal growth. Her diverse experience allows her to walk alongside many different groups of people in their pursuit of personal growth and freedom.

Ms. Péwé is focused on guiding the formation and operations of the organization and the development and execution of the equine assisted learning and psychotherapy programs.

Victoria Longfellow

Vice President

Victoria Longfellow is an AV-rated attorney working with select companies as trusted advisor and legal counsel. Victoria’s practice is focused on complex commercial transactions and strategic planning for emerging and established companies in a variety of industries, including medical, dental and chiropractic groups, engineering firms, investment advisors, technology companies and entrepreneurs, software developers, commercial real estate developers and property owners and investors, renewable energy companies, logistics technology and non-profit organizations. Victoria’s breadth of experience covers representation of closely held businesses (corporations, limited liability companies, joint venture partnerships) from company formation and business structuring through debt and equity funding, acquisitions, operations, growth and divestiture through sale or merger.   Victoria is certified as a qualified business mediator through Pepperdine School of Law, using mediation skills to assist clients in resolving disputes outside of litigation, and she is a member of Vistage International, and the American Health Lawyers Association.

Victoria’s interest in serving on the Board of Directors for Envision Therapeutic Horsemanship, Inc., stems from her life-long love of horses and her dedication to promoting the re-empowerment of those who are struggling with challenges arising from trauma, including PTSD, domestic violence, abuse and other challenges. Victoria contributes to numerous other charitable organizations throughout the Valley, including K2 Adventure Foundation, Hope Kids and the American Heart Association.

James A Boyd

Treasurer

Jim Boyd brings his expertise in business finance, enterprise building and people management to move Envision Therapy forward. With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, from University of Toledo, a Master Business Administration from George Washington University, and his studies in military strategy, logistics, and history at the Naval War College as a Senior Officer, he is uniquely qualified to inspire others to reach their highest potentials and lead them to be more productive, increase their knowledge and fulfill their destiny.

Jim, served on active duty in the Navy for 10 years in Naval Aviation with the F-4 and F-14 fighter squadrons based out of Virginia Beach, VA. In addition, he spent 20 years serving in the Naval Reserve where he held positions as Commanding Office, Executive Officer, and on the staff of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Manpower and Reserve Affairs. He retired as a Navy Captain in 2000.

Upon leaving active duty, using his military expertise he was employed in the field of aviation simulators and engineering support to the Navy F-14 community thorough the Naval Air Systems Command.

As an independent contractor he was a representative for numerous small companies as their liaison to all levels of the federal government. In 1989, MagneTek hired Jim as their Director Washington Operations were he was instrumental in increasing their exposure and business opportunities with the federal government. During the due diligence of purchasing an airborne power supply manufacturer in Arizona, Jim was offered the opportunity to become their new General Manager. During his tenure, he was responsible for increasing business by a factor of 4 and significantly reducing overhead and administrative expenses. In 1995, Magnetek sold their Defense System Division and the new company consolidated operations in Southern California.

After joining Vanguard Mutual Funds, Jim eventually became a Manager in their Retail Services and Retirement Services divisions, managing as many as 160 representatives. After completing 3 of 5 Certified Financial Planning modules, Vanguard promoted Jim to Manager Flagship Services in its Arizona facility. During his tenure Flagship Services grew in Arizona from a staff of 36 to 140 representatives serving over 50,000 clients.

After retiring from Vanguard, Jim has focused his efforts on supporting small businesses in their strategic and financial planning.

Cinthia Hiett

Cinthia Hiett, MC, LPC

Advisory Board Member

Cinthia Hiett is an accomplished motivational speaker, coach and psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her education includes a Masters Degree in Counseling and she is in the process of earning a Doctorate in Counseling Studies. As an adjunct professor at Arizona Christian University, she has taught a course entitled Psychology of Religion. With a passion for the bible, she is a recognized motivational speaker sharing inspiration and teachings, traveling internationally, presenting biblically based seminars and lectures on relationships, gender and other inspirations. Cinthia currently hosts “Conversations with Cinthia” on Blog Talk Radio where she teaches the tools and tips to a successful relationship with the opposite sex and explores life management interests. In the past, she has hosted similar radio shows such as “People Talk” and “Singles Talk” on KFNX and “Match Know Match” KXXT. She has been interviewed as an expert clinical practitioner for several TV programs and by the Arizona Republic for her commentary on the relationships of celebrities and VIP’s. Cinthia shares her creative side as an accomplished singer and songwriter, as well as an ordained pastor. Her artistic talents also include performing at weddings and serving in the music ministry to local churches as a soloist, keyboardist and worship leader. Cinthia has a private practice with offices in both Phoenix and Scottsdale, specializing in adult psychotherapy, pastoral counseling, family relations, and helping each person understand their temperament using the Myers Briggs philosophy. Cinthia is available for private and corporate coaching, as well as consulting sessions for individuals and groups. She enjoys helping groups resolve conflict and manage the dynamics, allowing them to work together productively.

Kerry A. White, CPA

Advisory Board Member

Kerry White is a licensed and practicing CPA with 20 years’ experience focusing on the non-profit community through auditing, tax, and consulting. She is licensed in Washington State and Arizona. She has a variety of experience in public, non-profit, private industry and public accounting. She spends her free time volunteering in the community through non-profit organizations such as the Arizona Bicycle Club, Tacoma Parks and Recreations/Boys and Girls Clubs, United Way, Maricopa County Parks, ASK and now Envision. Kerry has past participation through various professional organizations such as the Washington Society of CPA’s and Arizona Coalition for Domestic Violence. She currently works for the Arizona State Retirement System and maintains her own CPA practice. Spare time activities include mountain biking, vegan cooking, and gardening.

Carol Kessler

Advisory Board Member

Carol Kessler is a physical therapist with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice with an emphasis in orthopedics and sports medicine. She also has a masters degree in exercise physiology and has extensive supervisory and management experience.

Carol has been a life long horse enthusiast. She eventually was able to combine her career in physical therapy with her passion for horses. She worked at a PATH premier accredited riding center providing hippotherapy services to clients with various physical challenges. Hippotherapy promotes the movement of the horse to facilitate physical, emotional and verbal changes to achieve specific therapeutic goals. This type of treatment intervention is provided by physical, occupational or speech therapists. She was able to observe profound changes in her clients with this treatment approach and believes strongly in the therapeutic benefits of horse-human interaction.

Additionally Carol is an ASEA certified equine appraiser. She also is a horse owner who rides and shows in the discipline of dressage.

Barb

Barbara Beard

Board Secretary/Treasurer

Barbara is a PATH International Registered Level Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, and Certified Special Olympics Equestrian Coach. She was an early organizer of therapeutic equine activities for veterans and active duty military and their families in Arizona. With her husband, Joseph C. Beard, III, Ms. Beard co-owned and operated Del Camino Equestrian Academy in Scottsdale Arizona from 1996 to 2007.There she designed and delivered horsemanship clinics, workshops and camps for youth and adults, gave riding lessons managed the care of 20 to 40 horses, including rehabilitation from injury, and special diets.  She developed and maintained the website, managed all financial and marketing functions and documented and branded the academy program to be reproducible by new staff. Barbara has thirty-four years of management experience, including hospitality operations for Westin and Hilton Hotels, training, documentation and technical support departments for hospitality systems, network and cable management diagnostics and accounting software companies.  She has held positions in insurance, banking and risk management functions for Prudential, Wells Fargo, and American Express respectively, and held a Series 6 Securities license. Educated at the University of Southern California, and Reed College, Mrs. Beard continued her studies throughout her career at Portland State University School of Business Administration, Oregon State University Graduate School of Business Management, and Arizona State University.  Barbara has had articles published in professional trade magazines, and won numerous professional awards for technical and instructional materials and publications, designed both for print and new media.  She has authored and delivered workshops on numerous equine-related topics, and has been an active volunteer for many non-profit groups.

Mrs. Beard assists in all areas of organizational and program development including financial and donor relations, grants, record keeping, and equine care.  Barbara manages our social media and will develop and implement all web based instructional design modules.

Kerri

Kerri Callidora

Board Member 2015

Kerri Callidora’s success is directly related to her genuine nurturing ability and care for others. She has a way of making you feel like you are her only client with positive, energetic attention. Her strategic approach is to learn about her client’s needs beyond the scope of real estate, to educate and to ensure a win-win for everyone. She has personally helped more than 3000 families relocate over the past 27 years of her career. You will find her expertise and diverse experience greater than the average Realtor. She has also created and authored the Flourishing Family – A Unique Relocation Solution for Family Minded Professionals which is a high touch, high level concierge service for relocating executives and their families. In addition to her success as a relocation and lifestyle transfer specialist, she has created and managed the most successful inside sales team at Realtor.com, co-launched a corporate housing firm, coordinated group moves for Fortune 500 companies, launched and managed several condo-conversions, and has hands on experience in the field selling real estate with first time buyers, corporate relocation, investors, and second home buyers, and seniors in transition.

Kerri focused on development, facilities acquisition, and donor and corporate engagement.

Leslie W. Paradise

Vice President 2013-2015

Ms. Paradise is a PATH Certified therapeutic riding and carriage-driving Instructor.  She obtained her riding certification in 1997 and driving certification in 2005. She has taught at a leading PATH premier accredited center for her entire career. Ms. Paradise has extensive experience working with individuals of all ages with a wide variety of disabilities, such as most phases of Autism, cerebral palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, stroke, Down Syndrome, developmental delays, ADD, and ADHD.  Her work with a Veterans program has included PTSD, partial blindness and amputees.  She is also Complex Certified through the Pet Partner® program for animal assisted therapeutic services with her miniature horse, Rebel, working mostly with the elderly.   She coordinated and chaired three large fundraisers for a leading therapeutic riding center. This included procuring donations, publicity, display, and volunteer coordination for over seventy-five volunteers. The three fundraisers raised thousands of dollars for the organization. Ms. Paradise was a volunteer for the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show from 1995 to 2011. He contributions and skills include; coordinating large numbers of volunteers, managing “barn” tours for hundreds of people, working with a team to coordinate all of the educational presentations, as well as supply design and decor oversight for their fundraisers. Ms. Paradise owns two horses of her own and has performed with a miniature horse drill team in numerous parades and other venues, including two Tournament of Roses Parades. She enjoys and collects antique carousel horses. She and Rebel are also contributors to “Chicken Soup for the Horse Lovers Soul II”, page 131.

Ms. Paradise is focused on outreach by the miniature horses and delivery of the therapeutic riding program.

Wanda Stingley

Wanda Stingley

Board Member 2013-2015

Wanda Stingley is a marketing professional with 25 years business experience.  She has worked extensively with large corporations, entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations. Wanda has a business degree with a minor in computer science from Southern Connecticut State University. She has implemented many corporate branding programs, developed & delivered strategic positioning plans and other business development activities. Wanda works with website development and other social media. Wanda has always loved horses but did not get seriously involved until she and her husband became guardians to a teenager in need of non-traditional counseling. Their new daughter came from a difficult situation with her father in prison and her mother struggling with drug addiction. Learning of the success of individuals participating in equine assisted therapy, Wanda searched the Valley for an appropriate equine assisted program. Eventually, she met Lisa Péwé. Lisa was able to work with her daughter and help her process some difficult memories. The process was so effective and powerful that Wanda became a volunteer for the group and has agreed to serve on the Board.

Wanda’s focus was on development of marketing and public relations material and activities.

Debra

Deborah Lunden

Board Secretary 2013-2015

Deborah worked for Arizona Public Service (electrical power distribution) in an administrative capacity before retiring after 23 years.  Among her duties were organizing, conducting, and taking minutes at the quarterly meetings for major electrical service power plants involving multi state jurisdictions.  Since retiring from Arizona Public Service she began work for Discount Tire, where, for the last 11 years, she has worked with employees nationally to address and resolve worker compensation injury claims.  This requires interaction and problem resolution with the insurance company and state claim agencies in 13 different states. Deborah has been involved in therapeutic riding for the past ten years.  Activities include exercising and preparing horses for therapeutic riding sessions, lesson coordination, and ensuring the safety of riders and volunteers.  In addition, she has been directly involved in fund raising activities such as organizing, silent auction pricing and organization, and coordinating with prospective contributors. Deborah focused on planning and executing therapeutic riding activities and keeping corporate records.

Alex Graham

James A. (Alex) Graham

Board Member 2013-2015

Alex concluded a career of over twenty-five years as an executive in an international financial services company in 2001.  During his career, he was responsible for developing and implementing financial service systems in the U.S., Europe, and the Asia Pacific areas; providing financial services to individuals throughout the world.  His last assignment was to monitor and ensure service quality for customers throughout the United States. A lifelong equestrian and lover of horses, Alex spent several years assisting in a variety of equestrian activities.  Six years ago, he began working at a facility providing therapeutic horsemanship.  He worked with individuals with physical and mental challenges in therapeutic riding sessions, worked with autistic clients to enhance their quality of life, and worked with disabled and returning veterans. During this time Alex became aware of the benefits of equine therapy as a means to address the result of combat trauma.  Having served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era himself he has a high interest in making equine therapy more available to combat veterans. Additionally, Alex helped in evaluating horses for acceptability into the program, helped in desensitizing training for the horses, and generally maintained the physical well-being of the therapy horses. Having observed the benefits of therapeutic horsemanship, Alex began a search for documented studies about how equine therapy can be maximized for individual benefit.  Finding little, he is committed to establishing an organization that will not only deliver therapeutic horsemanship to those in need, but will also conduct research into finding the best modes of delivery for maximum benefit to each individual. Alex focused on general operations management, coordination of activities and research opportunities.
